They also supervised wet lab sessions for trainees and NAHPs to offer hands-on training and skill development.

The Thoracic Surgery Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) Team took home the ‘Thoracic Surgery Team of the Year’ award, which recognised their exceptional contributions and teamwork. Last year’s winners, Katie Shiner (lead ANP who won best NAHP oral presentation), Yousuf Salmasi (winner of best aortic presentation) and Mr Nizar Asadi (consultant thoracic surgeon who won best trainer in thoracic surgery) also retrospectively received their medals.

Their achievements reflect not only their individual expertise but also the collective strength of Harefield Hospital in contributing to the national and international cardiothoracic surgery community.”
