Harefield Hospital first core thoracic transplantation course

Harefield Hospitals Mr Espedd Khosbin ran the first Core Thoracic Organ Transplantation Course.

The course was supported by the Society of Cardiothoracic Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland and the Royal College of Surgeons under the directorship of Mr Espeed Khosbin as the National Lead for Transplant Education. 

The course catered for doctors of all grades and a range of allied health professionals, with consultant surgeons from Europe and the far east attending and Sir Magdi Yacoub joined via video link from Egypt to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the first heart-lung transplantation in Europe that he performed at Harefield Hospital.
